Sergio Tovar Velarde (Nayarit, 1982)

Director, screenwriter and editor. His works have been selected in over 50 festivals in countries like USA, France, Spain, Argentina, Peru, Albania, Germany, Austria and several cities in Mexico.

He has twice been nominated and won the silver goddess, issued by the association of journalists. Film de Mexico, Mexico's best short film award at the International Festival of Guanajuato in the short term and in the international film festival in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Integral Realization Award of New York short film festival and of the Worldfest Remi Award / Houston.

Mi Ultimo DÍa

was filmed in Nayarit, and is set in 1994, the year of devaluation and political and social changes in Mexico, a year that forever mark the national events not only for economic losses but with the assassination of presidential candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio and Zapatista problem in the south. In this environment of social uncertainty, a teenager faces his family and the world with a question: What is worth living?. That's the story of a tormented teenager Mariano suicidal, and he feels guilty of having destroyed the life of his brother.
